Hand-thrown functional porcelain fired in a hard-brick kiln to 2300 F in a heavy reduction atmosphere. Patterns are created free-hand and are applied in multiple layers using methods such as wax-resist and brushwork to imbue the patterns with depth. The base glazes that I decorate on are designed to capture carbon from the atmosphere of the kiln. This "carbontrap" effect is random and adds tremendously to the overall energy of order a piece. One-of-a-kind.
