2 Vintage Framed Ballet Prints Truart order Product Vintage Turner Ballerina Art Vintage Sophie Ballerina Art Vintage Framed Ballet Ballerina Art

This set of 2 delightful faux oil finish vintage ballet prints framed in ornate plastic gold gilt frames would be a lovely addition to your living space. The paintings are reproductions printed on a dense cardboard surface and finished with simulated oil painting brush strokes. The frames are beautiful Baroque reproductions. They are labelled as "A Truart Product" on the back side. The front bears the mark Sophie TMCO, Turner Manufacturing Company, a Chicago based company which went out of business around 1975. At one time it was the largest manufacturer of decorative art in the United States. These prints would be a wonderful gift for a dancer or for a ballet aficianado!


The frames are sold as a set. They measure 8 inches in height, 7 inches in width and 1 3/4 inches in depth. The front opening for the prints is 4 5/8 by 3 5/8. The frames/prints are in excellent vintage condition with two exceptions. There is a small scratch above the ballerinas right hand in the print of the solo ballerina. In the other print, there is a tiny circle above the Sophie signature. I am not sure if this was cause by a water drop or if the finish wore off. Both of these areas are very small and may be able to be touched up. I believe these to be 1950s reproductions of 1920-30 originals. Notice the framed prints were originally purchased at Sattler's. This was a beloved Buffalo department store which was in business from 1889 until 1982. The flower and silver spoons are not part of this sale.
