Maris' skill in the outfield was largely overshadowed by his slugging. He was a tremendous asset to the Yankees, and of course his 1961 home run numbers. Those early 60's Yankees were loaded with tremendously talented players. The cards in the pictures are the cards you will receive. Roger was recruited by legendary coach Bud Wilkinson to play football for the University of Oklahoma. But with a professional baseball contract looming, Roger gave up his scholarship at the University of Oklahoma to pursue a career in baseball.
