This Mermaid Cameo cabochon made a beautiful base for this seed bead necklace, I used several different sizes and colors of Miyuki and Toho seed beads to enhance the colors order in the cameo. Several stitches and methods were used in the creation such as, spiral stitch, peyote stitch, and bead embroidery. The backing is a very soft suede. I also added a real starfish to complete the ocean theme. The beadwoven necklace is 18" long and has a silver plated lobster claw clasp. I purchased this beautiful mermaid cameo from Painted Lady Boutique and that cameo was the inspiration for the rest of the design. This artist's outstanding work really grabbed my attention. I just wanted to make her work a part of my work! It was very difficult to keep my purchase down to three cabochons! So you will be seeing more!
