The Whiting Davis company was order founded in 1876 in Plainville, MA. . In 1907s, the first chain mail mesh machine was developed and Whiting & Davis became the world's largest manufacturer of mesh products. Many fine examples of the company's early bags have survived. The interior is peach colored silk, with the Whiting & Davis fabric tag, a full width slip pocket on one side and a 2.5" x 3.5" patch pocket on the other for the double-sided mirror, which is included in it's original paper packet.
Condition is very good.
