Here is a beautiful hand carved and painted Blue Heron. It is a shore bird , seen in our NJ marshes. This bird was carved by a local gentleman, Al Hiering in 1968. He was a resident of Lavallette NJ . a small town on the NJ coast. He was noted for his shore painting and bird carvings. This bird is signed on the wood base. I purchased this lovely bird scene many years ago.

order The lovely bird is well carved and beautifully painted. It is 4 in long, 1 1/4 in. tall and 1 in. wide. With his long legs the bird is 5 1/4. inches tall. The wood base is an oval 8 x 5 inches. The lovely piece of natural driftwood is 4 x 2 x 6 1/2 inches. There are wonderful details painted into this carving,. The bird has two metal legs and feet and metal top feathers on its head. We have enjoyed this lovely piece of NJ art for many years, and it is now time for someone else to have the pleasure of this beautiful carving.
