There are 3 inner compartments - two open slot areas and a centered zippered storage area. I used this as a work Tote - able to fit my laptop, my iPad all in one slot and still plenty of room for my wallet, makeup bag, etc. There are some scuff marks noted on the exterior and some wear down on the rounded corners, but still plenty of life left in this great XL Tote Handbag.
