Beautiful Gorman order Famed and Matted Print Woman with Basket of Peppers

A real gem of the Navajo Southwest, this Gorman print depicts in a beautiful woman bending down over her basket of Chili' peppers. The detail work of the hands and foot and her pensive face is exquisite, making this an especially wonderful Gorman picture. This picture, like all his pieces, captures the eye with simple and quite movement, but the drama is bold. The woman's hands tell a story, making you stop and study the entire work which is the point of great art.

R.C. Gorman was born on a Navajo Reservation in Arizona in 1933. He has been called the "Picasso of the Southwest, and in 1973, became the only living artist to have his work showcased at the "Masterworks of American Indians" show held at the prestigious Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. A Gorman piece was also selected for the cover of the exhibit's catalog.
