Beautiful piece of Stebner Pottery estimated from 1980s from Hartville, Ohio.

This lidded crock or lidded canister order measures 6.75 inches diameter on the base. The rim on the top is 5 inches with a lid that is 4.25 inches in diameter.
The motif features smoke coming out of a chimney on a quaint country home. The glaze has a smooth surface. Signed on bottom B Stebner

There are two small cracks (in the shape of a T) on the bottom (inside) surface of the lid. Not visible unless one picks up the lid and turns over. They are shown in the last photo.

Please note the two drops of glaze to the right of the motif. Each piece of handmade pottery always has its distinctive characteristics.

This article from Chicago Tribune 1987 cites Stebner Pottery as one of the five best modern potteries turning out classic salt glazed stoneware.
