I use many types of diamond sandpaper for jade carving and lapidary projects; it's by far the best option for removing tool marks, smoothing surfaces, and pre-polishing. This type of sandpaper can be cut and glued(or mounted using spray adhesive) on custom made hand tools or burs for use with a rotary tool.
