Very unusual and unique, Custom Made Bovine (Bull) Brooch. This is an unmarked order and unsigned example of a 19th century custom created animal pin, made to save the memory of a very prized bovine. The brooch is made of silver metal or pewter, with surrounding rhinestones and the encompassing semi-ornate floral oval is a gold color with stones in each flower.. Victorian gold or brass not certain. The center "stone" is bubbled out beveled glass with underlying abalone color background and a silver color bull with unique symbols on each side. So unique... The back side has an older style straight-bar enclosure. Very close inspection makes this look as though it is completely custom, made from bits and pieces of select jewelry placed together and soldered together too. The oval glass center with bull and symbols measures 1" long x 5/8"high, complete brooch is 1 3/4" long x 1 3/8" high. This protrudes approx. 5/8" from body. The overall condition is very good with many years of jewelry box storage. This pin, I believe, is perhaps very much one of it's kind. Unusual and unique collectible & wearable brooch pin.
