Satin has an advantage over other fibers since it won't create static cling, is gentle to the hat wearer's hair, and adds perceived value to your own hats or the hats you make for your customers. A lined hat looks much more expensive than an unlined one. A hat liner can be used to cover any stitching made inside the hat when embellishment is stitched to the crown.

The hat liners are made of 100% Bridal Satin The fabric is cut on the bias which allows it to mold to the curves of your hat.

The liner is attached by order hand tacking with needle and thread under the head size band (the sweatband).
These liners work best in hats which have a head band (sweat band) behind which the raw lower edge can be tacked to the hat. Or if you are constructing the hat, the liner can be inserted before you stitch in the head size band.

Why Satin Lining Works:

Satin fabric is the perfect selection for a lining fabric for natural hair. *Satin is a woven fabric. Under the microscope, woven fabrics have two or more sets of yarns interlaced at right angles to each other. For satin, this woven fabric can have 4 to 12 yarns or "floats on the surface before it passes to the back of the fabric, thus creating the shiny smooth surface characteristic of satin fabric. This is why it is best suited as a lining fabric for natural hair; it does not snag or "grab" the natural hair as other fabrics would.

Another feature is that it protects and keeps one warm because of it's tight weave of fibers. Because of this high fiber count, satin has exceptional wind resistance, keeping those ears toasty warm, an extra bonus for those living in cold weather states!
