Beautifully preserved, large antique Orthodox "Old Believers" Cross pendant featuring plain and humble design. Cast from bronze or similar copper alloy; covered with patches of brown patina from the past centuries. Origin likely circa 18-19th century Imperial Russia. The Cross has superficial dents and scratches, is slightly bent and mildly worn off likely as a result of devotional wearing as a "body" cross, probably by several generations of Christians. The inside of the order solid necklace bale shows signs of wear consistent with long continuous wearing. The size of the Cross is shown on the photographs for the listing. Authentic antique symbol of Orthodox Christianity.
