Hand order carved Guava Root Warclub

A hand carved 19" one handed Hawaiian Guava wood root burl war club. This one of a kind war club was painstakingly hand carved from a Hawaiian Guava wood sapling root and stalk and finished in a Danish wood oil. The bone like shape is why it was selected and the bark meticulously removed in the deep grooves on the head while preserving this stunning (no pun intended) creation of nature as it grew. We left a natural finish, but I imagine it painted off white like a bone and the butt painted dark red to emulate the broken bone vibe we gave it. We at Wretched Beauty Art Studio created this piece for cosplay, and if painted would supplement or complete any Barbarian or Neanderthal costume. Thank you for bearing with us. Guava wood, particularly Strawberry Guava, is the strongest most flexible and resilient type of wood we have ever encountered. After curing, it is highly resistant to splitting, and because of the exceeding grain tightness and flexibility, Strawberry Guava handles impact better than any other wood we've tested as impact weapons...Also, the fact that this is a full grain sapling and not milled from a larger log makes it much stronger, as it retains its full natural layers as a tree. Guava is actually native to central and South America and considered invasive here in Hawai'i. Our studio is based in an agricultural community in a native Hawaiian rain forest on the slope of Kiluaea volcano... Vast swaths of native forest have been inundated with Strawberry Guava choking out native foliage...We are heavily involved in a large scale native reforestation and fruit tree orchard project of the surrounding area. We cut down large amounts of Guava in this effort,so we find the rare and unique pieces order and make art out of them.
