Pueblo Wedding Vase order earrings: Handcrafted, Sterling Silver, Dangle-style earrings

In the Pueblo Culture, the bond of Matrimony is clearly acclaimed by the traditional wedding vase, whose distinctive features celebrate "the joining of two lives together as one". It has always been a common practice to make a gift of a pottery wedding vase to the happy couple ... as they formally celebrate their start as a newly married pair. A good marriage provides a strong foundation for family life, which is highly esteemed and sincerely respected by the entire tribal community.

These earrings honor this tradition. I first developed this earring design back in the late 1980s from some early sketches, then evolved the elements to lend themselves to sterling silver jewelry. I wanted to show the classic shape with its dapped contours, and with the accent of engraved lines that reflect basic polychrome pottery features. These earrings were popular back then, almost 30 years ago... and so now I am bringing them back --- years later, but still with all of the honor and respect they merit.

The earrings are as shown in the various photos, including a pose with a model. The proportions are excellent: each earring is about 1.25" inches high, and 7/8" at the widest point --- and this does not include the earwire. With .925 Sterling Silver, these earrings will age well, and the dark oxidation in the recessed design lines will deepen naturally, giving a very distinctive time-worn look --- which I have tried to show in the photos. In addition these earrings are meant to hang horizontally below the ear, in full view... and not facing outward from the ear.

The ear wires are Sterling Silver, or Sterling Silver plated... but if you have sensitivities I will put on stainless steel non-allergenic french earwires instead. Just mention it with your order, please. There is no extra charge for this.
