Fan-carving is the process of slicing wood into thin blades (feathers) and then turning and interlocking them to create a 3-dimensional design from one piece of wood.(feathers are not glued)
This type of carving is thought to have originated in Russia, east of Finland. This type of carving is more than 300 years.


The bird is hanging to a suitable place so that it catches the slightest breeze which makes it move and looks alive.

All birds are sent with a leaflet describing their history and how they are made. Often given as gifts, these fan birds make great presents and unique decorations.


Each bird is individually hand-carved.
