There is something so calm and magical about dawn's early light. Colors are muted and soft. Heat, reds, oranges, yellows and saturation haven't made their way down yet so there is a misty quality to the world. These colors are inspired by that early morning glow and promise. No need to wake up to a ka-pow!
I use various wooden bits and bobs to create true one-of-a-kind pieces. These were glued, primed and then painted with acrylic paint in those lovely muted colors. There are smoky blues, taupes, medium gray, and a mauve. The lighter accents are painted with a metallic pearl which brings a little bit of dew-like sparkle when hit with light. They were then finished with a matte polyurethane and my initial, of course.
The taller candlestick holder is 10 inches tall. The smaller is 8 inches tall. Their widest part is about 3 inches across. The candle openings are 7/8 inches wide.
