Hailing from a mindspinning variety of original sources, authentic sea glass comes in every color of the rainbow and each shade in between, manifesting in an astonishing array of configurations and forms -- some of which are less common than others. And while all genuine blue sea glass is quite rare, specimens representing the classic cornflower side of the broad blue spectrum are exceptionally uncommon, yet scarcer still are surf-tumbled glass beads. Given these facts, the captivating cornflower sea glass bead used to create this handmade bracelet is in a class of its own! Smoothed and majestically frosted only by time, the surf, sand and salt, this exquisite ocean gem (measuring roughly eight millimeters in diameter) has been upcycled into a uniquely beguiling slide bracelet. Handcrafted with a focus on highlighting the exquisite beauty of the round, transparent bead, a sterling silver pin positions it in the center of an intriguing, sterling silver eye frame. Sturdy sterling jump rings attach the delight glass and silver bauble (measuring roughly one-inch-long and one-half-inch wide) to two distinctive strands of sterling silver chain: the sparkling rolo chain connects to an elegant sterling box chain courtesy of silver jump rings. With a slide-ring closure and finished with dainty sterling silver balls, this 8.5-inch-long bracelet is easy to adjust to fit almost any wrist (contact us for shortening or lengthening). Created after decades or centuries of tumbling across craggy ocean floors, no two pieces of authentic sea glass (or beads, for that matter) are exactly alike. Since each piece is very literally unique, I can't help but think of sea glass as snowflakes of the salty seas! Indeed, finding the sea glass bead used to create this bit of "arm candy" is akin to hitting the proverbial jackpot, but the reality is equal parts luck, diligence and patience. I spend hours meticulously sorting my finds in a dogged pursuit of pieces that are not only the same color (or shade thereof), but also very similarly shaped and sized. Many would find my efforts overzealous, but I am passionate about delivering only my very best work.
