As summer begins to wind down we begin to think about Fall and leaf peeping. You know, driving around to see all of the beautiful color changes in the leaves as the deciduous trees go dormant for the winter.
This Big Leaf Maple is found in the Pacific Northwest and was created to match as closely as possible to their fall colors.
It was inspired by the older tree in my neighbor's yard and the younger tree in my own.
The Colors:
Made with varying shades, textures and opacities of orange, and yellow glass.
I used copper patina on the solder to match the colors of the leaves making them look a little aged and ready for fall and I've attached a chain for hanging.
